Two Sisters Bakery

An excellent stop for breakfast, lunch and wonderful baked goods! Lunchtime can be very busy in the summers.

The Bagel Shop

A great spot to grab lunch with a nice bagel sandwich. Get it "to-go" on your way to the harbor for a day on the water.

Duncan House Diner

Homer's classic all-day breakfast diner with Alaskan flavors like reindeer sausage and sourdough toast.

Grocery Stores.

Save-U-More

Homer's answer for Costco. It has a little bit of everything.

Safeway

Safeway is your most typical grocery store. If this is your first time away from the lower 48 states, expect higher prices due to shipping.

Homer General Store

Although town s not far from the spit, if you're caught out without something you need quickly on the spit, the Homer General Store can be a great help.

Old Inlet Bookstore

The Homer Spit

This is a favorite place. If you're a bibliophile, you will want to spend hours here. Andy has books on everything and a good selection of books about Alaska. 

If this isn’t already on your list of things to see, we highly recommend enjoying an afternoon out on the spit, visiting stores, seafood restaurants, or walking through the harbor with a nice cup of coffee.

Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center

Homer is perched on a treasure-trove of marine biodiversity. Learn the what's and why's here and then take a walk down to Bishops Beach.

 *This is a great place to bring your kids.

The Pratt Museum

A natural history museum with a lot of information about early life in this region of Alaska.

Diamond Creek

A short, 15-30 minute hike depending on your pace with a reward beach as destination. About 4 miles north of Homer, turn left off of the Sterling Highway directly across from Diamond Ridge Road in order to access the trail.
